LeTV One S1 / X600 Unboxing & First Impressions

LeTV One S1 / X600 Unboxing & First Impressions

And another unboxing for today: This time the LeTV One S1. This is the smallest device of the first ever LeTV smartphone line-up and has been announced a bit more than a month ago as a bezel-less phone and quickly gained popularity since it is one of the very first devices to makes use of the Mediatek MT6795 (Helio X10) high-end 64-bit chipset. Other specs are 3GB of RAM, dual-SIM support, a USB type-C connector, a 3,000mAh battery, camera with 13 and 8 mega pixel resolution and a 1080p 5.5-inch display. The operating system is LeTV's own Android custom ROM they call "EUI" and which is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The operating system sadly doesn't throw in much of LeTVs own ideas and is mostly a mix of MIUI, Flyme and Apple iOS. Still, it is well optimized and extremely snappy, kicking older Mediatek processors out of the arena. Something we dislike a little is the build quality, or to be exact the way the LeTV One S1 is built. It features a solid metal frame that indeed gives the device a very premium appearance, but the plastic real is something that disturbs the overall picture. We also noticed that the touch buttons are back illuminated but too dark and its almost impossible to see them in daylight.

Anyway: In the end you only pay roughly 303 USD for the LeTV One S1 and that's almost nothing for a device that can easily keep up with current Snapdragon 810 flagships. So lets just see how it performs in everydays life. We will now give it a shot for 7 days and provide you with an in-depth review afterwards. Stay tuned! Btw: The device got purchased by us at Geekbuying (no free sample).
